‘He came across as a friendly tradie. He didn’t seem like that type of person.’
A woman has revealed the shocking injuries she sustained when a man she met on a dating website attacked and raped her.
Kat Berry, 31, met the man on the Plenty of Fish dating website and the two started chatting before arranging to meet at a pub in Victoria, Australia, on October 17 last year.
Kat told Daily Mail Australia: ‘We got along really well. We discovered we got along better as mates, there was nothing sexual.’
But it all went wrong around 2am when Kat said she’d had too much to drink and told him she needed to go to bed.
She said: ‘That’s when he turned. He grabbed me on the boob from behind… the rest is a big blur. I remember bits and pieces.’
He brutally raped her but because Kat was hungover the next she day, she didn’t go to the hospital and hadn’t realise the extent of her injuries.
She initially didn’t got to the Bendigo police station either because she felt it was ‘my own stupid fault for bringing him home’, but decided to report it the following night.
Kat was shocked to discover her alleged attacker had given her a fake name and phone number and deleted his dating profile on Plenty of Fish.
She added that she didn’t have any proof either and no DNA because he had used a condom.
The man was later found in Queensland a few months ago and was accused of raping two other women in similar attacks.
The 31-year-old decided to share photos of her injuries after she learned the man would not be charged last Thursday.
‘These photos only show the bruising to one of my thighs, one of my breasts, a few on my arms, collarbone and my neck. It doesn’t show the rest of the damage he did.
‘What no one knows is of what scars I have under my boobs, around my vagina, my clitoris, or the internal damage done.’
She said: ‘It’s scary to know what some people are capable of. He came across as a friendly tradie. He didn’t seem like that type of person.’
