Last week, we explored nine signs to watch out for if you suspect that somebody is lying to you. In this week's slightly more evil edition, we present the flip side: eight sneaky tips for lying effectively.

In a nutshell: don't act like a guilty liar. Maintain normal eye contact, don't act defensive and don't embellish your lies with extraneous details. To make your lies more believable, pair them up with half-truths or full-truths and like a good actor, the more you can subconsciously convince yourself that your lie is true, the more convincing you will seem when you actually tell your lie.

The subject of lying, or more specifically, how to tell if someone is lying, is something that I can write a lot about. Being both an accomplished liar and lie detector is something a lot of people want to know how to do. Learning how to tell if someone is lying is difficult, but learning how to lie convincing is more difficult. Lying is never a clear case - there are certainly powerful indicators but no 100% methods - which is why there are no true lie detectors usable in a court of law. TEN Karoi villagers were recently arrested for growing marijuana.

A Harare Polytechnic College student, who made headlines last week after images were leaked of her flashing her privates at adjudicators during a beauty pageant, appeared in court Monday.

A Zimbabwean college student who allegedly took part in a modelling contest without any underwear has appeared in court in the capital Harare, state media reported on Tuesday.

Panashe Zhaware, 21, is alleged to have walked the ramp in a full-length fuchsia pink dress with a revealing split all the way up the front. Photos surfaced this week of the Harare Polytechnic student at the event, which was apparently held at the end of last term in July.

The death toll from a raid carried out by attackers from South Sudan in western Ethiopia has risen to 208 people, an Ethiopian official said, adding that 108 children were kidnapped.

A hotel worker has been forced to apologise after pretending to be a decorated SAS war veteran who also protected royals and celebrities.
Edward Brunton, 48, told friends he spent 30 years on British Army “special operations” and was later a bodyguard for Princess Diana and Brad Pitt.
