Entertainment industries are getting
bigger and better by every passing year whether it is gaming industry or
film industry. Last year we saw incredibly successful films from
Hollywood. Most of the anticipated movies of last year didn’t disappoint
us. Movies like Star Wars, Furious 7 and Jurassic World
broke numerous box office records and surprisingly got high ratings
from critics. In this list we are going to
talk about movies that you
shouldn’t miss this year. We can’t actually tell which film is going to
be good or bad so, the list is just based on speculation and marketing
hype build around the following films. Here are the top 10 anticipated
movies of 2016:10. Star Trek: Beyond
This is the third installment of the star trek reboot series but unlike previous two films, this one isn’t directed by J. J. Abrams,
because he was busy working on ‘Star Wars the Force Awakens’. Instead
it is directed by a well known director Justin Lin who has shown his
directing skills through fast and the furious franchise.
It would be great to see the freshness
in this franchise because Justin Lin can create pretty amazing action
sequences and it can be seen in the trailer. Maybe he is focusing too
much on the action in this kind of film. But we can’t say anything,
probably it would be fun to watch if not highly acclaimed by critics.
9. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
Ever since the second part of deathly
hallows, ‘Harry Potter’ fans are aching and hoping for another ‘Harry
Potter’ film. ‘Fantastic Beasts’ is inspired by the J. K .Rowling‘s
novel with the same name. It would be prequel/spin off of the ‘Harry
Potter’ film series. ‘Fantastic Beasts’ and where to find them will
provide unique prospective on the magical world which is set in the
America of 1920s. It is going to be the first film in the upcoming
trilogy. It’s quiet natural for ‘Fantastic Beasts’ to be one of the most
anticipated movies of 2016.
8. Suicide Squad
‘Suicide Squad’ is based on the DC comics anti-hero
team. It is intended to be the third installment in the DC extended
universe. First of all casting of the film looks excellent. Will smith
as deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn and extremely talented actor
Jared Leto as joker. Unfortunately Jared Leto always going to face
comparison with Heath ledger but he has his own style to portray joker
and he also put method approach in his roles. It would be fun to watch
another comic based film. While we are not a comic book fan but we must
admit that comic based films are always been absolutely entertaining.
7. Warcraft
Every gamer somehow love ‘World of Warcraft’ and the movies based on games
have sweet spot in gamers heart. ‘Warcraft’ is going to be an action
packed and violent movie with pleasing visual effects created by the
legendary light & magic studio. Film has been pushed back many times
despite the fact it was completed on May 23 2014. So, makers had a lot
of time to polish it before a final release.
6. Assassin Creed
Unlike other game based movies this one
is least based on its game. Although it is based on a game but going to
have original character and a different storyline that have never been
told in any game of the series but it will be connected to the story of
previous games. Unfortunately it has already been push back multiple
times and now it is set to release in December 2016. ‘Assassin Creed’
fans are dying to watch the film, we are only hoping that they don’t
push it back again until next year. But still finger crossed.
5. Independence Day: Resurgence
One of the most anticipated movies of 2016, it is the sequel of 1996’s ‘Independence Day’.
Maybe most of us haven’t seen the first film including me, but trailer
looks insane and story seems to be quite simple. It is just a fight of
humanity against alien species. It is one of the most anticipated movies
of 2016. Even those who haven’t seen the first film want to watch this
one.
4. X-Men: Apocalypse
It is intended to be the sequel of
2014’s ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’. Apocalypse is the very first and
most powerful mutant on the earth. All the mutants assemble to fight
against him. There are many new mutants shown in the trailer along with
the old ones that have appeared in the series. Professor x, magneto,
quicksilver and mystique are going to be in the movie but not wolverine.
Maybe he would have a special appearance in this film. Presently, any X-Men film is easily the most talked about, the most eagerly awaited films of 2016.
3. Rogue One: Star Wars Story
‘Rogue One’ is the very first standalone
film from the Star Wars universe. Chronologically it is set between
episode III and IV. Last year’s Star wars the force awakens sparked the
craze of star wars once again, it was an excellent movie beyond
expectation, so any film with Star wars name attached to it going to get
everyone going for it. This film is directed by Gareth Edwards the same directed who worked on 2014’s ‘Godzilla’.
2. Captain America: Civil War
This movie is set right after the event
of ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ and ranks second among the most anticipated
movies of 2016. Avengers continue to protect the world but the team
becomes fractured into two opposing fractions one lead by Iron Man and another by Captain America. We’ve already seen some tension going on between two superheroes during ‘Age of Ultron’.
This film is intended to be avengers 2.5
as it has all the characters appeared in previous marvel films except
for Hulk and Thor, but it has some new characters joining the Avengers
including Black panther, Ant man, Winter soldier and even Spiderman.
1. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
There is not one but many reasons for it to rank in the top among the most anticipated movies of 2016. It is the first time Batman
and Superman appearing together in a live action film along with wonder
woman, Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg. It is intended to be the follow up of
2013’s Man of steel and second installment in DC extended universe. It
has two greatest superheroes of comics and a bonus Wonder woman. Ben
Affleck is playing Batman and he is one of the best actors working
today. It has to be the must watch film of this year, for comic fans as
well as movie goers.
