Rumours around Jay Z's alleged affair with stunning fashion designer Rachel Roy resurfaced following its release on Saturday night.
Now, Rachel and Jay Z's close relationship has been revealed to date back as far as the mid-nineties, around 13 years before the rapper wed Beyonce.
Making things even more confusing, the bitter love triangle can add another player to the mix - Rachel's ex-husband Damon 'Dame' Dash.
Jay Z and Dash teamed up to establish the 'Rocawear' clothing company, where Rachel bagged a job as an intern.
Meanwhile, the co-owners expanded their business venture to include Roc-A-Fella Records and rose through the ranks to make millions.
By 2001, Rachel had also climbed the career ladder and had been made Creative Director of women's and children's lines at Rocawear clothing.
Four years later, Rachel married Dash, amid rumours she had already enjoyed a brief fling with Jay Z, which is alleged to have cemented their closeness over the years.
It has also been suggested Jay Z's ongoing closeness with Rachel was the real reason for the bust-up between him and Solange Knowles on a New York lift.
A source told The Sun : "Solange got into some sort of argument with Rachel at the Met Gala after-party.
"Rachel used to be an intern at Rocawear back in the day. It was alleged that Jay and Dash would pass girls around that office.
"Jay's partying shot when the music label split was, 'and I had your wife'."
Dash addressed suggestions Jay Z still harboured possible feelings and resentment towards Dash following a bust-up at the 2014 Met Gala ball.
Speaking to Hip Hop Motivation, he said: "If he was trying to holler at my wife, though that's kind of f****d up.
"But I don't think he's doing that, that would be bad, that would be dark. That means he really has some resentment. But I would hope that wouldn't be the case."
Rachel's blossoming relationship with Kim Kardashian , whose husband Kanye Westis close friends with Jay Z, is also thought to be another reason Rachel and Jay Z have remained close over the years.
While Beyonce and Jay Z are worth a combined £700million, the couple have been plagued by rumours around marital problems.
Choosing not to shy away from a barrage of speculation in her latest album, Beyonce sings: "He only want me when I'm not there, he better call Becky with the good hair."
In a bizarre twist in the Lemonade saga, Rachel Roy followed up the album release with a cryptic tweet that seemed to identify herself as "Becky with the good hair".
She wrote: "Good hair don't care, but we will take good lighting, for selfies, or self self-truths, always. Live in the light #nodramaqueens".
She later followed it up with another tweet claiming she respected "love, marriages, family and strength" while suggesting had become the subject of "bullying".
I respect love, marriages, families and strength. What shouldn't be tolerated by anyone, no matter what, is bullying, of any kind.
